Right Here Right Now is a one minute filmmaking competition run by PQATV and the Children’s Media Conference for young people aged 21 and under. Building on from last year’s successful ‘One Minute to Save the World’ competition, we are back with a new theme!
RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW what have YOU got to say..?
Make a film about who you are
A film that makes us sit up and take notice
Make a film that shows us your world
A film that you want to see
The ‘Right Here Right Now’ short filmmaking competition is for young people aged 21 or under. Films can be for a young audience, an older audience, or for everyone. They can be an animation, fiction, documentary, music video or something different. Films can be made using any technology; a smart phone, a DSLR or digital camera, celluloid, a camcorder or a Film/TV camera. We don’t mind, it’s what you put in front of the camera that matters.
Entering your film is FREE via Film Freeway, entries open 28 February 2020 and close 24 May 2020.
“Right Here Right Now” is the theme for this year’s Children’s Media Conference. The theme is a response to challenges set by last year’s Changemakers, a group of young people selected to speak at the conference about causes they are passionate about. This theme not only focuses on larger issues such as climate change, but also diversity, inclusion and empowerment of new and young voices and this is what we would like you to focus on with your one minute films. Show us what you think and feel on screen.
Win a DSLR camera kit.
Up to 12 shortlisted films will be screened at the CMC in July to a industry delegates from companies such as Disney, CBBC, CITV and Nickelodeon. The two winners will be chosen by voters at the conference and there will be an under 16 and a 17-21 award winner. All shortlisted films will be available on YouTube.
Last year was the inaugural PQATV & CMC young filmmakers one minute competition called “One Minute to Save the World”. You can watch the 12 shortlisted films below, we hope these will inspire you to create your own creative and thought provoking films.
